PCMA Announces Record Attendance in Europe

Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) EMEA Regional Director Jaime Bennett has revealed that the association has broken pre-pandemic records with the greatest number of participants gathering in Europe. In less than 30 days, almost 400 business event professionals from 31 countries will meet for PCMA’s "Convening EMEA," taking place for the first time at Meeting Destination Vienna from September 28-30. Convening EMEA is an omnichannel event for business event professionals in the EMEA region, bringing together experts from the corporate and association sectors—from international technology companies to medical associations—to discuss the challenges of the future.

Under the theme "Together we move forward," participants can expect an immersive three days of engaging content, panel discussions, workshops, and case studies in the Messe Wien Congress and Exhibition Centre focused on key topics of the future, engagement, and planning coupled with a highly curated offsite exploration afternoon and social program.

The conference will be moderated by David Meade, international corporate speaker, performer and television personality. Keynote sessions include Gerd Leonhard, leading futurist and humanist; Colleen Bisconti, vice president, events and experiences with IBM, and planning experts Patrick van der Pijl and Niki Seelan from Business Models Inc. In addition, there will be a series of educational workshops delivered by experts in their relative disciplines and "Exploration Tours," which will provide participants with insights into lesser-known facets of the destination.

“Convening EMEA will create a platform for our entire industry where voices are heard, learnings are shared, and collaboration is the key to building a stronger future together,” said Bennett. “We are delighted with record numbers of participants and that we are now hosting a truly international audience in Vienna, a city that has evolved over centuries where tradition meets modernism, sustainability meets inclusivity.”

PCMA EMEA aims at organizing Convening EMEA according to the criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings. This effort demonstrates PCMA’s continued commitment to sustainability and raises the bar to the next level in terms of economies, ecology, and social responsibility.
