New DC Hotel, The Morrow, to Debut in Fall 2022

Trammell Crow Company and MetLife Investment Management have announced that they will be debuting their lifestyle hotel, The Morrow Washington DC, Curio Collection by Hilton, in the fall of 2022.

Located in NoMa’s 3rd Street District, The Morrow will have 203 guestrooms, 16,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and three food and beverage venues from Michelin-starred Chef Nicholas Stefanelli, who is well-known for local hot spots Masseria, Philotimo and Officina. Once open, the hotel will be well-suited for business, group and leisure travel.

The hotel, designed by Shalom Branes Associates, is located on the last site of Central Armature Works, a 100-year-old electrical manufacturing and repair business. The rooms of the hotel have been designed by Rottet Studio and the common spaces and food and beverage outlets by INC Architecture. The hotel is inspired by the heritage of the surrounding NoMa neighborhood and infuses its artful spirit throughout the property.

The design selections create a series of differentiated experiences from light and airy to dark and contemplative, bringing elements of contrast to the hotel's various activities, from lounging and working to dining and wellness.

The lobby is bright and airy and offers intimate seating areas. Above the lobby, the mezzanine is home to a fitness center and an expansive meeting space. The second floor has a nearly 3,000-square-foot ballroom with multiple configuration options, an 834-square-foot meeting room, and access to a landscaped outdoor terrace, where a gantry crane-inspired sculpture pays homage to the site’s industrial roots.

The hotel's arrival will bring new food and beverage venues operated by Chef Stefanelli to NoMa. Among them, Le Clou will offer a modern take on the traditional French brasserie. Vesper is the intimate cocktail lounge, while Upstairs at The Morrow is a rooftop lounge and bar. It is wrapped by an expansive outdoor terrace and will bring guests unobstructed views of some of the city’s key sights. Located on the 11th floor, Vesper will offer live music, cocktails, grand hors d'oeuvres, and caviar service. By day, the space offers a private backdrop for intimate business meetings and afternoon tea. Stefanelli and his team will also be responsible for all events, weddings and meeting spaces.

NoMa’s new 3rd Street District is an energetic area of the city with a reputation for artistic innovation and sustainability, culinary offerings, and rich industrial history. The location offers a blend of culture and convenience, with walkable access to Union Station and NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro Station, connecting guests to popular destinations in the city and throughout the region.
