InterContinental Buckhead Announces Multi-Phase Renovation

InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta, Georgia, has announced that it is undergoing a comprehensive renovation that will be completed this summer.

The property-wide transformation will be completed in two phases. The first phase includes the opening of The Americano, helmed by Scott Conant; a redesigned lobby lounge; a new breakfast cafe; and updates across the meetings and events space that spans over 31,000 square feet. This is the first major renovation since the hotel’s inception in November 2004 and comes on the heels of the brand’s 75th anniversary. Chicago-based KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group was roped in to redesign the hotel’s interior spaces including the entryway, check-in area, main lobby, meetings spaces, Club Lounge, guestrooms and suites.

The Americano is led by two-time James Beard Award-winning chef and restaurateur Scott Conant. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It features a bespoke café for coffee and pastries and other treats. It also offers a selection of cocktails and wines. The dining room features butcher block tables and crescent-shaped booths, while the outdoor terrace has wicker chairs with thick cushions and stone-topped tables. A private dining room is also available upon request.

The revamped lobby lounge on the ground floor features rose marble floors and natural light from the private outdoor garden. Large-scale abstract paintings by local mixed-media artist Niki Zarrabi adorn the walls.

The breakfast café is located just off the lobby and offers pastries, sandwiches and selections curated by Chef Conant and The Americano’s culinary team. Grab-and-go selections are also available.

InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta features several indoor and outdoor event spaces across 31,000 square feet and accommodating up to 1,100 persons. Guests can choose from four meeting rooms and two ballrooms with seamless access to the Windsor Garden.

The second phase of the renovation will include the opening of a rebranded spa concept, updates to all 422 guestrooms and Signature Suites, and more of the property’s public spaces, including the Windsor Garden and saltwater pool, and the 21st-floor Club Lounge. This phase and additional details are expected to be completed late this summer.
