Piazza Hospitality Brings Back Meaningful Meetings Program

Hotel Healdsburgh2hotel and Harmon Guest House, luxury boutique hotels in Piazza Hospitality’s Healdsburg Collection, have announced the return of its “Meaningful Meetings” program. First developed in response to a wave of requests from groups and guests seeking ways to help the Healdsburg community after the 2019 Kincade Fires, the giving-back initiative paused during the pandemic and has now made its highly anticipated return, offering travelers the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities that help foster meaningful change.

“We’ve long heard from meeting planners who expressed interest in programs that give back or allow for a deeper connection to the area,” said Circe Sher, co-founder of Piazza Hospitality. “These partnerships allow groups to immerse themselves in the area and connect with each other around a shared cause outside of business.”

One of the partners involved in Hotel Healdsburg’s Meaningful Meetings is Farm to Pantry, an organization that rescues food to feed people in need. Gleaning, one of Farm to Pantry’s most popular activities, gathers volunteers each week to work with local growers to harvest excess produce. Typically, gleaning volunteers work with commercial, organic farms that have excess produce to harvest. Rather than wasting the extra produce, it is harvested and made available to local organizations for distribution.

Hotel Healdsburg has also partnered with Landpaths, a nonprofit community conservation organization with the mission of fostering a love of the land in Sonoma County.  Offering a variety of team-building, confidence-boosting and transformative experiences, activities may include managing invasive plants, creating or clearing trails, stream enhancement, and brush clearing to reduce fire hazards.

Groups can also participate with the Russian Riverkeeper, an organization that actively pursues conservation and protection of the Russian River. They have the option to book a special tour to take a deeper dive into the river’s past, present, and future with Riverkeeper Executive Director Don McEnhill and his team. During the float, McEnhill will share insight on the history of the river, its challenges ahead, the impacts of global warming, and exciting solutions being implemented to restore the river and native fish population and off-set future issues.
