Visit Oceanside Welcomes New Team Members

With tourism in Oceanside swiftly returning to pre-pandemic levels, Visit Oceanside has announced additions to its team. Joining the organization are Tyler Garcia as vice president of business and brand development and Shae Geary as director of communications.

“Tourism recovery in Oceanside has been fast-paced, and these new team members will allow us to continue to best position the destination as we fulfill our mission of smart tourism growth for enhanced economic benefit to our city and community,” said Leslee Gaul, CEO, Visit Oceanside.

As vice president of business development, Garcia will lead the sales and marketing departments while focusing on product development and strategic partnership opportunities that align with the four pillars of the City of Oceanside master plan: environmental quality, resident quality of life, quality of economy and visitor quality experience. Well versed in the Oceanside tourism landscape, Garcia joins Visit Oceanside from Oceanside’s new beach resorts, Mission Pacific Hotel and The Seabird Resort, where he served as director of sales. His background also includes nearly 15 years as a hospitality sales executive for several San Diego hotels, including Park Hyatt Aviara, Paradise Point Resort and Hotel La Jolla.

Geary brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic hospitality communications to Visit Oceanside. She has a strong familiarity with Oceanside having served as the external public relations liaison for Visit Oceanside since 2012. Geary has honed her professional skills primarily working on behalf of hotels, resorts and destinations most recently from her position as director of hospitality communications at San Diego’s public relations agency (W)right On Communications.
