Teneo Appoints Scott White as Director of Sales

Confident in the recovery of the Washington, D.C. area market, Teneo Hospitality Group has appointed veteran hotel and group meetings sales executive Scott White as director of sales. In this new role, he will support the company’s efforts to serve the association and corporate meetings market in the mid-Atlantic region. He will also help the company expand its initiatives to grow these markets, not just nationally but globally. A long-time resident of the D.C. Metro Region and an established leader in group sales, marketing and destination management, White brings more than 30 years of experience to his new role.

White began his career at Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa prior to joining the Washington D.C. office of The Krisam Group and Global Events Partners. In this capacity, he managed 400 association, corporate and third-party accounts. White’s father, Chris White, founded Krisam in 1975 and led the company to international prominence, representing hundreds of luxury properties and destinations around the world. After 22 years at Krisam, White was hired by Associated Luxury Hotels International as regional director of sales and in that role, he oversaw 125 key client accounts in the Washington, D.C. area.

Most recently, White was director of global sales at PRA, Inc., a destination management company with 29 offices across the U.S., and with revenues in excess of $200 million. White opened the company’s D.C. office in 2019 and helped develop the market, focusing on client success through events, conferences and brand development. Under his leadership, the company developed a full cycle-strategy for client event planning. This included every aspect of the process from budgeting, site selection and hotel contract negotiations to sponsor relations, marketing, invoice reconciliation and complete onsite event management.

White is a member of Professional Convention Management Association, Meeting Professionals International, Potomac Meeting Professionals International -Potomac Chapter, American Society of Association Executives, Meeting & Incentive Professionals of Annapolis, Association Management Companies Institute and Association of Destination Management Companies. As part of community-service initiatives, White worked for many years to support the Washington, D.C. Chapter of I Have a Dream” Foundation, and raised ample funds to provide college tuition for 53 inner-city school children. He is also a team parent liaison for various Montgomery County, Maryland, boys’ and girls’ sports teams.

White holds a bachelor’s degree in science and business from the University of Maryland at College Park and an MBA from Clemson University.
