Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, CA, is set to unveil property-wide renovations this summer. Inspired by classic Spanish-style architecture, this redesign will encompass every element of the 400-acre resort, from its guest rooms and villas to the spa and championship golf courses. Following a refresh of the resort’s lobby, bar, Costa De La Luna ballroom and meeting spaces in 2021, the property now enters a new phase of this three-year transformation.
Over 500 renovated guestrooms, including villas, suites, hospitality rooms and presidential suites, will don a new look, enhancing the property with light airy spaces, soft textures and neutral tones. Refreshed rooms and suites include Resort Rooms, Golf View and One-Bedroom Suites. The suites tucked away near the Garden Pool’s courtyard, offering a “hotel-within-a-hotel” feel, will also be transformed into brighter and more vibrant room offerings. Redesigned villas include Bedroom, Studio, Executive Suite, and One-, Two- and Three-Bedroom Suite villas.
The spa’s updates will include three new salt rooms, refurbished steam rooms with new aromatherapy features, and new equipment in the showers, locker rooms and select treatment rooms (such as the Vichy showers). The spa’s walls will be lined with vintage art as a nod to Omni La Costa’s historic past, when the spa was once a refuge for noteworthy figures, including Richard Nixon and Jackie Kennedy.
The resort’s championship golf facilities, led by designer Gil Hanse, will also unveil updates this summer. Home to three consecutive NCAA Division | Women’s and Men’s Golf Championships beginning May 2024, the renovation of the Champions Course marks a new era of golf at Omni La Costa. Additionally, after the unveiling of the Costa de la Luna ballroom and event lawn in 2021, the resort continues to refresh and add even more space through 2024 with the expansion of the Coastal Events Center, totaling 100,000 square feet of event space.
