Kimpton Hotel Fontenot Adds New Rooms, Meeting Spaces and Restaurant

Kimpton Hotel Fontenot, located in the center of New OrleansCentral Business District, has completed its expansion into the historic building next door. The additions include 33 new guestrooms and suites, a new French brasserie and over 12,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space.

The fully opened hotel now occupies both 501 and 521 Tchoupitoulas Street, with the latter being the newly added building that includes the new eatery, King. The hotel’s second floor is home to several flexible meeting and event spaces. Among these is the 5,500-square-foot Canray Ballroom, named after the musician Canray Fontenot, the inspiration behind the hotel. Other options include the 554-square-foot Evangeline Ballroom, and a terrace overlooking Tchoupitoulas Street, well-suited for a ceremony, group dining or a reception accommodating up to 265 people. The third and fourth floors of the newly added building contain additional meeting space with the 1,000-plus-square-foot room Lala on the third floor, besides 33 new guestrooms and suites.

Located on the ground level of the new building, and with an entrance both on Tchoupitoulas Street and through the hotel lobby, King is a three-meal, casual restaurant. It offers indoor-outdoor dining options with seating for up to 125 persons. King is open daily for dinner service Sunday through Thursday 5 to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 5 to 11 p.m. The bar is open those same hours with happy hour specials available 5 to 6 p.m. daily. Breakfast service will launch April 8 and will go from 7 to 11 a.m. Lunch will be available starting May 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m, with the bar set to open during lunch hours as well.

Kimpton Hotel Fontenot now comprises 235 rooms, multiple ballrooms and event spaces, and three restaurant and bar concepts. King joins Peacock Room, a cocktail bar that regularly hosts music and arts activations, and Gospel Coffee & Boozy Treats, a neighborhood cafe and frozen treats shop with a boozy twist.
