Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Offers Sustainable Groups Initiatives

Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, an upscale downtown hotel on the St. Johns River next to the scenic Main Street Bridge, is offering sustainability-focused initiatives for meetings and events. The hotel helps groups lessen their carbon footprint through several programs, from utilizing Hyatt EcoTrack to monitor sustainability metrics to sourcing food from local environmentally-friendly farms.

In an effort to limit carbon emissions and water-use at Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, lights are kept off in guestrooms and meeting spaces unless they are in use and daily operational reports are used to efficiently schedule heating and cooling. Additionally, linens are changed once every three days unless otherwise requested, low flow faucets and shower heads have been installed in all guestrooms, and incandescent bulbs have been replaced with longer lasting LED bulbs.

The hotel also implemented recycling programs to reduce waste and limit single-use plastics. Through the program, plastic straws have been replaced with paper straws, which are provided upon request, water is served using carafes and bubblers rather than plastic bottles, and paper and pens are provided at stations as opposed to at every seat. Guests are also able to use a mobile key card system using their smartphone instead of plastic keys, toiletries are dispensed in a large-format system rather than individual bottles, and all electronics are recycled through a veteran-owned business.

The hotel aditionally follows Hyatt’s “Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served.” philosophy, which guides its menu and ingredient selection process. In fact, the property’s culinary team curates all ingredients utilizing local farms and purveyors located within a 100-mile radius of the hotel. The on-site dining experience highlights seasonal menus to focus on fresh in-season ingredients, and fish and poultry is sustainably sourced.

Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront offers 116,000 square feet of flexible event space, making it the largest event venue in Northeast Florida. The hotel’s signature event spaces are stacked riverfront decks with indoor outdoor functionality year-round. It also provides a newly renovated ballroom, as well as multiple small and mid-sized event spaces for a fully customized experience. Additionally, groups are able to host large-scale outdoor events on its Coast Line Drive, which can be fully transformed into an outdoor event right on the riverfront.
