Hyatt to Rebrand Grand Hyatt New York Under the Hyatt Brand

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced its plans to rebrand Grand Hyatt New York next month to Hyatt Grand Central New York and resume operations of the centrally located New York City property from November 1.

RXR Realty and TF Cornerstone plan to redevelop the property, creating a two-plus-million-square-foot mixed-use development, including a new luxury hotel, office and retail space, new public open space, besides improvements to the public transportation infrastructure in the Grand Central Terminal transit complex. At this time, the plan is that the hotel would close for such redevelopment no earlier than 2023.

Hyatt Grand Central New York is located at 109 E. 42nd Street. Just steps away, guests will find dining options, recently reopened Broadway entertainment, Fifth Avenue shopping and popular attractions, including the Empire State Building.

The property has 1,298 guestrooms and suites with city views. The Market offers grab-and-go snacks and meals, and at the hotel’s 24x7 fitness center, guests can maintain their fitness routine with Technogym and Precor cardio equipment and free weights. Hyatt Grand Central New York will offer member benefits through the World of Hyatt program, where it will participate in award Category five. Members will have the chance to earn and redeem points that can be used toward free nights, upgrades, experiences and more.

“With demand for travel continuing to increase in New York City, we are thrilled to embark on a new chapter for our ideally situated hotel in the heart of the Big Apple,” said Peter Roth, area VP and general manager, Hyatt Grand Central New York, in a press release. “Hyatt Grand Central New York will help connect guests and World of Hyatt members with iconic New York City just outside our doors.”
