Hong Kong’s Dorsett Kai Tak to Open in August 2024

Dorsett Hospitality International has announced that its new luxury flagship hotel, Dorsett Kai Tak, is slated to open in August 2024. Dorsett Kai Tak marks the group’s 10th hotel in its home city of Hong Kong.

Dorsett Kai Tak will be located in the Kai Tak Sports Park, a multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue. Offering views of Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour, Dorsett Kai Tak will sit adjacent to the city’s new 50,000-seat stadium, home to all of Hong Kong’s major sporting events and concerts, state-of-the-art sports facilities, and new shopping and dining offerings. The new hotel is located about 15 to 20 minutes away from Hong Kong’s Central business district via the new Shatin to Central link.

The new 373-room Dorsett Hotel flagship is inspired by the location’s marina lifestyle and the ocean. Catering to both leisure and longer-staying business travelers alike, suites will offer pantry and light cooking facilities, as well as interconnecting options. Dorsett Kai Tak will offer two Presidential Suites, each with a private ocean-view terrace complete with barbecue facilities. The Presidential Pool Suite will have 32-foot lap pool. Other hotel facilities will include a rooftop pool with harbor views, a 328-square-foot fitness center and a grand ballroom.

F&B options will include an all-day restaurant with an outdoor garden and four private rooms, as well as London’s rooftop bar Jin Bo Law, which will take up residence on the 15th floor of Dorsett Kai Tak.

In keeping with the group’s Dorsett Cares initiative, Dorsett Kai Tak has received a BEAM Plus Gold certification by the Hong Kong Green Building Council. The program’s multifaceted approach encompasses green construction, the use of renewable energy, eco-friendly choices for guests, and community support.

Guests can also enjoy a range of retail, dining, and entertainment options at nearby shopping malls including AIRSIDE, Mikiki, and the upcoming SOGO shopping mall, The Twins (opening in mid-2024). High-end brands to trendy boutiques are all within reach.

Other openings in the pipeline include Dorsett Canary Wharf, Dorsett Brisbane, Dorsett Perth and Dao by Dorsett Hornsey Town Hall—the third opening of the group’s “aparthotel” concept, Dao by Dorsett.
