Visit Salt Lake Promotes Karen Staples to MD of Sales, East Coast

Visit Salt Lake (VSL) has announced that Karen Staples, CMP, CASE, has been promoted to the position of managing director, East Coast office. In her new role, Staples is responsible for booking all meeting and convention business in the Washington D.C. and northeast regions. Staples will also continue to serve as the NYPCMA chair through 2022.

“I’m excited about putting my long-standing client relationships in D.C. and the northeast markets to good use,” said Staples. “Salt Lake is a rising star with a new world-class international airport, new bars and restaurants, and new hotels including the 700-room Hyatt Regency attached to the convention center.”

According to Mark H. White, VSL’s chief sales and experience officer, “Karen is tireless in her promotion of Salt Lake as the perfect meeting destination. I’m confident this promotion will enable Karen to fully utilize her strong client relationships, management skills and leverage her numerous industry contacts.
