The board of the Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau (AICVB) recently approved the promotion of Amy Boek from chief marketing officer to vice president of the organization. The seven-member AICVB board unanimously approved Boek’s promotion during its June 27 meeting.

“During her time with the CVB, Amy has been instrumental in the destination’s remarkable growth and award-winning marketing strategies, earning national recognition for her leadership in the tourism industry,” said Gil Langley, president and CEO of AICVB. “She has won the respect of local stakeholders, elected officials, policy makers and her colleagues, and has a unique perspective of the issues we face in the future. I congratulate Amy on this well-deserved promotion.”

According to Langley, Boek has been an invaluable part of the AICVB, from her first four years as director of marketing to her most recent position as chief marketing officer. Since she first joined the organization in 2014, the economic impact of tourism in Nassau County has grown nearly 70 percent from $422.2 million (FY2013) to $714.7 million (FY2021), with Boek leading the marketing team behind this tremendous growth. As vice president, she will retain her responsibilities as CMO for the foreseeable future.

Originally from Kentucky, Boek fell in love with North Florida during a college internship and jumped at the opportunity to relocate to Amelia Island after graduating from Murray State University with a degree in public relations and marketing. She spent five years as real estate marketing manager for Amelia Island Plantation before transitioning to the role of marketing communications manager for Omni Amelia Island Resort, during which she helped relaunch the luxury beachfront resort following a $100 million renovation.

Since joining the AICVB, Boek has overseen the development and execution of numerous advertising campaigns. She also introduced new programs and events such as “Dickens on Centre,” all benefiting the local community. In 2021, her leadership and marketing expertise helped the organization successfully navigate the numerous challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, working to protect Nassau County’s vital tourism economy. At the state level, Boek is a member of the Visit Florida marketing council and Destinations Florida board of directors. Closer to home, she has served on the Fernandina Beach Main Street council and other city and county committees and boards. Boek is also a regular panelist and speaker for key industry events.
