Miraval Resorts & Spas has entered into an agreement with Hyatt Hotels Corporation to debut its spa concept in Southern California. As part of the agreement, the Miraval Life in Balance Spa will be opened at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, Golf Club & Spa in Carlsbad in early 2023. The collaboration marks the culmination of a $60 million resort-wide renovation that includes the design of the new Life in Balance Spa.
The Life in Balance Spa is the centerpiece of each of the three full-scale Miraval resort and spa destinations in Tucson, Austin and Lenox. It offers a range of globally inspired treatments alongside a daily schedule of activities, such as wellness counseling, nutrition classes, culinary workshops, outdoor adventures, sound bathing, chakra balancing and meditation.
The Miraval Life in Balance Spa at Park Hyatt Aviara will include a full redesign of the resort’s existing 15,000-square-foot spa by Wimberly Interiors. It will have 20 indoor and outdoor treatment rooms. Plans for the new spa include specialized treatment rooms and a spa pool for the sensory deprivation treatment, Vasudhara, besides a large room with hanging yoga silks for the Miraval spa’s take on Naga Thai massage.
Other facilities include a fitness center, a yoga and meditation studio, plush lounge and retail space. Plans are underway to integrate select wellness activities and Miraval’s culinary programming for Park Hyatt Aviara groups looking to incorporate mindfulness practices into their retreats. Miraval Life in Balance Spa memberships will also be available.
Park Hyatt Aviara’s recent renovation included redesigned guestrooms and suites; a reimagined lobby; two new pool experiences, including the Ocean View Pool with private cabanas and the Splash Pool with a waterslide tower and tide pool splash pad; an interactive Topgolf Swing Suite; 80,000 square feet of upgraded indoor and outdoor event spaces; and five F&B experiences.
The Miraval Life in Balance Spa at Park Hyatt Aviara is expected to open in spring 2023.
