Sneak Peek: The Ritz-Carlton, Portland

The Ritz-Carlton, Portland is set to unveil 16,000 square feet of event and meeting space upon the hotel’s completion this summer. The hotel will offers venues to suit a variety of functions, ranging from an intimate soiree or a gala to important board and corporate meetings.

Upon ascending a floating staircase from the lobby, guests arrive at Ascending Mount Hood, the events floor that pays tribute to the peak that inspired its design. Shades of blue, white and gray are illuminated by natural light, intending to give the feeling of rising above the clouds, while crystalline lighting features evoke the storied hidden crystals under the legendary mountain.

Tucked away within the pillars of the pre-function space, wooden doors inlaid with faceted metal details slide open to reveal the Crystal Bar, a mirrored bar offering the perfect place for meeting attendees and guests to warm their spirits.

Through the open pre-function space, guests enter the 8,000-square-foot Ritz-Carlton Ballroom. From hand-blown glass faceted crystals that illuminate the space to a custom carpet pattern that captures the topographical view of the region including its rivers, valleys and peaks, the ballroom will make for a memorable event setting. The space can be divided into three salons.

The Eliot Ballroom is the hotel’s 2,200-square-foot junior ballroom with 1,000 square feet of pre-function space. The junior ballroom also divides into two sections, Elliot I and Elliot II, to better accommodate events of varying size and/or needs. Additionally, the hotel will offer three smaller breakout rooms, perfect for more intimate gatherings, ranging from 880 to 923 square feet.

A culinary team, under the leadership of Michael Gray, will work with guests to customize menus for events, be it a seated dinner for 500 or cocktail receptions up to 800 guests.

For those looking to host more intimate events and meetings, the hotel will offer a boardroom seating up to 14 attendees, plus two private dining rooms seating up to 16, on the 20th floor. These venues will have dining options from Bellpine, the hotel’s signature restaurant.
