Radisson Blu Anaheim Makes Its Debut

Radisson Blu Anaheim debuted on August 20 as the first ever Radisson Blu hotel on the West Coast, situated just four blocks away from Disneyland and minutes from the Honda Center and Angel Stadium. The 326-room property offers three new food and beverage offerings, two outdoor heated pools—one being an adults-only—a 12th-floor rooftop, along with art elements throughout.

The guestrooms, public areas and food and beverage spaces were designed by the global hospitality interior design firm HKS, and have a Southern California design. The property’s art program, an expression of childhood toys and nostalgic pastimes paying homage to one's youth, includes an oversized piece evocative of the “View-Master slides” from the 1940s offering guests a glance into the area’s entertainment and sports offerings.

Of the 326 rooms, 136 come with bunk beds, ideal for family stays or groups of up to six guests. There are 40 pairs of connecting rooms and 20 suites with corner views. The property also offers two outdoor heated pools. The ground pool has a whirlpool, splash pad and cabanas for family fun, while the rooftop adults-only pool provides picturesque views and cozy lounge furniture. A fitness center, laundry service, electric car charging stations, and complimentary Wi-Fi complete the amenities.

The 12th-floor rooftop BluSky Restaurant & Bar has an exhibition kitchen, fire pits, a private dining area and a vantage for the famous Disneyland nightly firework show. For the food and beverage program, Executive Chef Edgar Beas takes inspiration from his experience cooking in Spain’s Basque Country to create Spanish dishes with a craft cocktail program to pair.

One of the more recent additions to the hotel is the Oasis Pool, which offers dedicated poolside service with a limited menu with fresh Californian light fare, cocktails, beer, wine and luxury cabanas with VIP service. In the works is FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar, a signature concept of Radisson Blu properties in the U.S., that centers around live-fire cooking and locally sourced produce to showcase the bounty of Southern California. With a total capacity of over 200 seats, FireLake has nearly 50 outdoor seats inspired by the “Star Wars Tie Fighter Ships.” Diners will also find hanging art throughout the restaurant that features color palettes from iconic Disney movies such as “The Lion King,” “Cinderella,” “Aladdin,” and “The Little Mermaid.”
