Newport Marriott Hotel & Spa Unveils $9 Million Makeover

After more than a year of planning and renovation, Newport Marriott Hotel & Spa has unveiled its fifth-floor terraces overlooking the Newport Harbor and design updates to all 320 guestrooms and suites. These renovations are the first of the property’s extensive changes to be announced, with the new Hideaway Terrace pool deck, bar, fire pits and cabanas scheduled to open in June 2025 in time for summer celebrations.

Designed in collaboration with EoA Group, this $9 million renovation touches most of the guest spaces on the property.

The 312 guestrooms and eight suites have been updated with a neutral and layered seaside color palette. The rooms also received new carpeting, artwork, custom light fixtures, stylish desk chairs, blackout drapery, luxury bath amenities and more. Additionally, the rooms on the fifth floor have terraces overlooking the harbor. Spanning 190 square feet, each terrace has a lounge area with sofas, chairs and individual fire pits.

What was once an open space will soon be transformed into an expansive pool deck and bar, open exclusively for hotel guests. The new Hideaway Terrace pool deck and bar, which will have the capacity to host as many as 150 people, spans more than 2,600 square feet (821 of which are dedicated to the fully renovated, indoor pool area). The space is furnished with pool daybeds, barstools and chairs, sun loungers, sofas and Adirondack seating around the fire pit. Two nearby private cabanas can accommodate eight people or can be divided in half to accommodate four people each.

When it opens this summer, The Hideaway Terrace will also be a daytime dining destination offering light bites and desserts, alongside cocktails and a range of beer and wines.
