Mountain Modern Announces Expansion and Renovation

Mountain Modern Motel has announced an expansion and renovation following the acquisition of Jackson Hole Lodge, doubling its footprint to cover a full city block just steps from Town Square. Located at the corridor of downtown Jackson, the property expansion is slated to be completed in fall 2022 and will add 59 new rooms; an outdoor pool and jacuzzi; a new culinary concept; and a contemporary social hub inclusive of a community space, lounge, fire pits and 19,000 square feet of added outdoor areas.

“Mountain Modern has remained a pillar of playfulness and approachability in Jackson Hole,” said Robert Nolan, co-creator of the concept launched in 2017. “Offering the ideal home base for year-round adventure with its location and approachable rates, we’re thrilled to expand the property to create a social hub and destination for both visitors and our local Jackson community.”

Designed by architecture and design firm TruexCullins, Mountain Modern’s functional, yet contemporary destination-inspired design remains woven throughout the 59 new guestrooms to add to a new room count of 194. New accommodations will include king rooms; studios with a full kitchen; double queen and king suites; and two-bedroom, two-story residential-style suites. These new suites sleep up to eight people and feature a kitchen, living room with a fireplace, separate bedrooms and private outdoor balcony.

Custom larger-than-life wall coverings celebrating Grand Teton backcountry and destination highlights including the local wildlife and Jackson’s fly-fishing, will give guests a true sense of place, while pops of the beloved red buffalo plaid–a Western pattern donned by the legendary cowboys of yesteryear–give rooms a playful color scheme. High-touch, high-tech features such as custom gear walls offering year-round storage for hiking boots, skis and snowboards, a 24-hour text concierge, exclusive bathroom amenities and chalkboard word searches offer doses of whimsy tailored to the modern outdoor enthusiast.

With the expansion will also come the introduction of “The Triple M,” a design-forward social hub brimming with creature comforts. Guests will find a new culinary concept featuring après ski fare, seasonal cocktail offerings and casual bites along with a marketplace offering local grab-and-go items and refreshments. Communal seating, co-working spaces and fire pits will transform The Triple M from day to night, as it opens up to an outdoor area ideal for lawn games, live music and a lounge area to welcome visitors to settle into “mountain time” upon arrival.

Guests are encouraged to “choose their adventure” during their Mountain Modern stay at Jackson Hole’s adventure basecamp, further elevated with property updates, new amenities and refreshed programming to come.
