With the world celebrating Global Meetings Industry Day on April 7, Marriott International announced several new and renovated meeting and event spaces across the U.S. and Canada offering flexible solutions to support the return to business travel and encourage collaboration.

Among the newly opened properties is Marriott Bethesda Downtown at Marriott HQ, which debuted in March. The property is steps from Marriott International’s soon-to-open headquarters, and offers almost 8,000 square feet of pre-function and event space, a rooftop bar, signature restaurant and sun-drenched meeting spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows in every room.

Other new properties include Muir Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada, an oceanfront location in the heart of the Queen Marque’s district. It has a private art gallery where intimate meetings and events can be hosted, besides a guests-only speakeasy and meeting rooms with 270-degree water views. A 36-foot private yacht is also available to rent for gatherings. Separately, W Philadelphia offers space for a private VIP gathering in the Extreme WOW Suite featuring a DJ booth, as well as the WET Deck bar and terrace, besides over 45,000 square feet of meeting spaces with the latest audiovisual technology. 

Also in Canada, W Toronto will offer the latest audiovisual offerings and a recording studio, with nearly 4,700 square feet of event space including six rooms and four breakout spaces. There’s also a Mediterranean-inspired rooftop bar and restaurant, with a private dining room for coworker gatherings. The hotel is slated for a spring debut.

The newly renovated New Orleans Marriott Warehouse Arts District is housed in a 19th-century warehouse directly across from the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, and offers 24,500 square feet of event space. Other recently renovated properties include Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, located near the Hawaii Convention Center, which offers 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting spaces. San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter’s ballroom venues are ideal for gatherings, with an additional 11,000 square feet of meeting and event space added during the renovation. Guests can choose from 37 venues including the grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 3,000 guests or smaller spaces for private occasions. New York Marriott Marquis offers over 100,000 square feet of event space. Its 48 meeting rooms include the Broadway ballroom, with space for up to 2,800 guests, besides the newly redesigned Perch Terraces nestled eight floors above the heart of Times Square.

The 321-room Austin Southpark Hotel is offering an all-inclusive “Chef’s Choice” package for groups. The package includes a full breakfast, morning and afternoon snack breaks, lunch and an all-day beverage station.

Marriott openings lined up for this year include The LaSalle Chicago, Autograph Collection (opening in May). The 22nd-floor LaSalle ballroom with city skyline views is ideal for high-end groups. Meeting and event spaces range from the 21st-floor meeting room to the semi-private divisible Solarium or private dining room and library inside Grill on 21Renaissance Oklahoma City Downtown Bricktown, also opening in May, will be just 10 minutes from the Will Rogers World Airport and steps from the new OKC Convention Center. It will offer nearly 2,400 square feet of event space, with concierge services and a business center to help facilitate business endeavors.

The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad will offer several event spaces including a pre-function room and bar; food and beverage services from Michelin-starred chef José Andrés; and an outdoor terrace with views of the Empire State Building. The property is set to open in May.
