Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin to Open in February 2023

Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin has announced that it is accepting reservations online ahead of its opening on February 1, 2023. The 31-story property in the heart of downtown Austin is located at 721 Congress Avenue, steps from the Texas Capitol and in the middle of the downtown arts and culture district. Two of the city’s most historic buildings, the Paramount (1915) and State (1935) theaters, are located next door.

The hotel will offer 246 guestrooms, including five suites. The rooms will be equipped with hair dryers, coffee makers, bath amenities and Bluetooth speakers. As well, Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin’s interior spaces showcase a collection created by artists from the Austin area and beyond. Among some of the hotel’s artistic touches are the use of guitar-amp nightstands, vintage concert posters from the theaters in guestrooms, and the “Recording Lounge,” which is one of the meeting rooms offering a creative intimate space for social gatherings or executive meetings.

The third floor of the hotel is dedicated to 2,560 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, offering hardwood floors, the latest technology and floor-to-ceiling windows. An additional 1,400 square feet of event space is also available on the 31st floor, which is the hotel’s penthouse named the “Artist Residence.” Inspired by an artist’s loft, in addition to space for private functions, it has full living and dining areas with an outdoor deck showcasing panoramic views, plus an indoor fireplace.

San Antonio chef and six-time James Beard Foundation finalist Steve McHugh’s first Austin restaurant, Luminaire, will occupy the full ground floor of the hotel. Guests can head to the eighth floor to the hotel’s lobby alongside bar Las Bis. The bar’s outside terrace will offer views of the city skyline while patrons try the playfully plated conservas, craft cocktails and biodynamic wines. Chef McHugh’s team will oversee food and beverage for banquets at the hotel as well as in-room dining.

The hotel also houses a 24/7 fitness center with Pelotons, a tribute to professional boxer Matt Martinez of Matt’s El Rancho including a punching bag and his portrait.
