Jamaica Hosts SITE Global International Board of Directors

Jamaica is hosting the International Board of Directors Meeting for the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) Global from June 20-23. The island nation is poised to benefit from the event and a strong tourism rebound is expected this summer. SITE’s International Board of Directors comprises top planners in the incentive travel business from countries around the world, including the U.S., Canada, Egypt, Europe and China, to name a few.

“Incentive group business is an important component of our tourism sector that brings in valuable revenue to our stakeholder partners and to our economy overall,” said Donovan White, director of tourism, Jamaica Tourist Board. “Being selected to host this international meeting over any other destination in the world right now amounts to a huge vote of confidence for Jamaica by incentive travel planners across the globe.”

In addition to holding their annual meeting, SITE’s International Board of Directors will be updated by the Jamaica Tourist Board on the destination’s product offerings and capabilities for this specific market. Attendees include local tourism businesses that supply services for incentive groups and network with planners who have the potential to increase business in the destination.

The Jamaica Tourist Board will host tours for the SITE group to showcase the destination’s product offerings. This will allow them to learn about on-site experiences and how the island works with local supplier partners to cater for incentive group programs.

In August 2021, Jamaica hosted the SITE U.S. Midwest Chapter’s second annual SMART Forum. Approximately 50 incentive travel planners attended the event and many of them are selling the island nation’s product offerings.
