Los Angeles Convention Center, Levy Restaurants & Musically Fed Donate 4,000 Pounds of Food to 1,000 Family Members

The Los Angeles Convention CenterLevy Restaurants collaborated with Musically Fed to donate and distribute 4,000 pounds of food to the Alliance College-Ready Public Schools for students & their families grades 6-12.

Musically Fed, after being notified of another 4000-pound surplus due to event cancellations, harnessed relationships formed during its GRAMMY Awards initiative. In one day, Musically Fed connected with Alliance to instigate a cooperative effort powered by LACC, Levy Restaurants and Musically Fed. These organizations provided bags of free groceries for hundreds of students and their families.

COVID-19 school closures and ravaged grocery shelves left many Alliance families dependent on the school for daily sustenance with a limited food supply.

The novel challenges created by COVID-19 provides opportunities to assist vulnerable community members most severely impacted by the social distancing and quarantine much more acutely. Those looking to distribute excess food can contact Musically Fed for assistance with logistics in getting items to those in great need at [email protected] or 480-951-1882.

Organizations, even those most harshly impacted by COVID-19, are helping out vulnerable populations. For example, as reported by Travel Agent CentralThe Solmar Foundation, a non-profit organization founded nearly a decade ago by Solmar Hotels & Resorts, is educating and preparing small poverty-stricken communities in the Cabo area of Los Cabos for COVID-19,
